La population ne doit pas c\u00e9der \u00e0 la panique face \u00e0 un animal sauvage, mais plut\u00f4t alerter imm\u00e9diatement les autorit\u00e9s comp\u00e9tentes<\/em> \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le directeur-chef de site du Jardin zoologique et botanique de Kisangani, Fran\u00e7ois Matala Konga.<\/p>\n<p>Selon le communiqu\u00e9 consult\u00e9 mercredi, le primate avait d&#8217;abord \u00e9t\u00e9 aper\u00e7u sur le campus de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 de Kisangani (UNIKIS), avant de se diriger vers les abords du cimeti\u00e8re de Makiso. Au lieu de pr\u00e9venir les services du zoo, plusieurs habitants l&#8217;ont caillass\u00e9 puis frapp\u00e9 \u00e0 coups de b\u00e2ton jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 sa mort.<\/p>\n<p>La direction du JZBKis pr\u00e9cise que \u00ab Manu \u00bb vivait au jardin zoologique depuis pr\u00e8s de six ans et \u00e9tait habitu\u00e9 \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sence humaine. Les responsables assurent qu&#8217;il ne pr\u00e9sentait aucun comportement agressif et ne constituait pas une menace pour la population.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;\u00e9tablissement souligne \u00e9galement que ce primate poss\u00e9dait une valeur scientifique importante. Issu d&#8217;un croisement rare entre un babouin m\u00e2le et un cercoc\u00e8be femelle, il repr\u00e9sentait un sujet d&#8217;\u00e9tude susceptible d&#8217;apporter des connaissances sur ses caract\u00e9ristiques biologiques et comportementales.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 travers ce communiqu\u00e9, la Direction du Jardin zoologique et botanique de Kisangani invite les Boyomais \u00e0 \u00e9viter toute confrontation avec un animal sauvage en divagation, \u00e0 signaler imm\u00e9diatement sa pr\u00e9sence aux services comp\u00e9tents et \u00e0 contribuer \u00e0 la pr\u00e9servation du patrimoine faunique.
