Alors que toutes les d\u00e9marches li\u00e9es \u00e0 la dot avaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 accomplies par le futur mari\u00e9, la famille de la fianc\u00e9e estime qu&#8217;une partie des exigences coutumi\u00e8res demeure incompl\u00e8te.<\/p>\n<p>Selon les proches de la jeune femme, la remise de trois ch\u00e8vres constitue d\u00e9sormais une condition incontournable avant de donner le feu vert \u00e0 l&#8217;union. Chaque animal est estim\u00e9 \u00e0 environ 120 dollars am\u00e9ricains, soit un total de 360 dollars.<\/p>\n<p>De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, le futur \u00e9poux affirme \u00eatre d\u00e9j\u00e0 fortement \u00e9prouv\u00e9 par les d\u00e9penses engag\u00e9es pour les pr\u00e9paratifs de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie. Entre les frais li\u00e9s \u00e0 la dot, \u00e0 l&#8217;organisation du mariage et aux autres obligations familiales, il dit ne plus disposer des moyens n\u00e9cessaires pour satisfaire cette nouvelle exigence.<\/p>\n<p>Cette situation plonge les deux familles dans une impasse, alors que les invitations auraient d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9es et que les pr\u00e9paratifs de la c\u00e9l\u00e9bration sont presque achev\u00e9s. Pour les proches du couple, l&#8217;espoir demeure de trouver rapidement un compromis afin d&#8217;\u00e9viter le report de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie.<\/p>\n<p>Dans plusieurs communaut\u00e9s de l&#8217;est de la RDC, la remise d&#8217;animaux fait encore partie des pratiques coutumi\u00e8res accompagnant le mariage.
