Trois jours apr\u00e8s l’entr\u00e9e des rebelles du M23 \u00e0 Bukavu, dans le Sud-Kivu, la situation socio-\u00e9conomique a presque retrouv\u00e9 son cours normal dans la ville et ses environs, et la population d\u00e9plac\u00e9e a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 regagner ses foyers. Toutefois, la prise, mardi, de la cit\u00e9 de Kamanyola n’a pas laiss\u00e9 la ville d’Uvira indiff\u00e9rente. Un dispositif s\u00e9curitaire des Wazalendo, inhabituel, a \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9 dans cette ville en soir\u00e9e, le mardi 18 f\u00e9vrier 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ce mercredi matin, une psychose s’est install\u00e9e \u00e0 Uvira. Non seulement les informations faisant \u00e9tat d’une probable progression des rebelles circulent, mais aussi des mouvements militaires ont \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9s partout dans la ville. Un habitant de la localit\u00e9, joint par lesvolcansnews.net, indique que les militaires ont quitt\u00e9 la ville depuis mardi, apr\u00e8s des accrochages avec les Wazalendo. Ces derniers ont \u00e9galement quitt\u00e9 la ville dans la soir\u00e9e pour une destination inconnue avec leurs arm\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Notre source n’a pas confirm\u00e9 la fuite des prisonniers de la prison centrale de la cit\u00e9. La population reste confin\u00e9e chez elle, alors que des tirs r\u00e9sonnent partout. Les habitants redoutent une entr\u00e9e imminente des rebelles M23 dans la ville d’Uvira.<\/p>\n

\nUvira , situ\u00e9e sur une superficie de 16 km\u00b2, compte environ 800 000 habitants. Deuxi\u00e8me plus grande ville du Sud-Kivu apr\u00e8s Bukavu, elle est \u00e9galement consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme l’une des plus belles villes de la province. Uvira abrite le deuxi\u00e8me plus grand port de la R\u00e9publique D\u00e9mocratique du Congo, le port Kalundu, apr\u00e8s celui de Matadi. Entour\u00e9e par les montagnes et le lac Tanganyika, Uvira est la premi\u00e8re ville de la RDC \u00e0 disposer de plusieurs ports.<\/p>\n
