Dans un effort pour endiguer l’ins\u00e9curit\u00e9 croissante \u00e0 Goma, le Maire Faustin Kapend Kamand a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 ce mardi 30 avril 2024 \u00e0 la presse un individu suspect\u00e9 d’enl\u00e8vement. Mwisha Shamamba, accus\u00e9 d’avoir kidnapp\u00e9 sa propre ni\u00e8ce de trois ans, a \u00e9t\u00e9 appr\u00e9hend\u00e9 apr\u00e8s avoir demand\u00e9 une ran\u00e7on de 800 dollars am\u00e9ricains. Les autorit\u00e9s ont d\u00e9ploy\u00e9 une action coordonn\u00e9e, avec la collaboration citoyenne et polici\u00e8re, pour retrouver l’enfant.

Le commandant adjoint de la police de Goma, le Major Didier MWIKA, a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que Shamamba avait cach\u00e9 sa ni\u00e8ce dans un camp de d\u00e9plac\u00e9s \u00e0 Mugunga apr\u00e8s l’enl\u00e8vement. L’arrestation de Shamamba a \u00e9t\u00e9 rendue possible gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une intervention conjointe des autorit\u00e9s locales et des forces de l’ordre.

En pr\u00e9sence du procureur de la R\u00e9publique, le Maire a exprim\u00e9 sa reconnaissance envers les services de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 pour leur vigilance et leur d\u00e9vouement. Les parents de la victime ont \u00e9galement salu\u00e9 les efforts des autorit\u00e9s pour retrouver leur enfant sain et sauf, soulignant l’importance de la coop\u00e9ration entre la communaut\u00e9 et les forces de l’ordre dans la lutte contre la criminalit\u00e9.

Parall\u00e8lement \u00e0 ces efforts r\u00e9pressifs, le Maire a organis\u00e9 une s\u00e9ance de sensibilisation avec les chauffeurs de taxi pour renforcer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 participative. Cependant, malgr\u00e9 les arrestations fr\u00e9quentes de pr\u00e9sum\u00e9s criminels, les habitants demeurent pr\u00e9occup\u00e9s par la persistance de l’ins\u00e9curit\u00e9 dans la r\u00e9gion.

La pr\u00e9sentation m\u00e9diatique des pr\u00e9sum\u00e9s criminels, bien que respectueuse de la pr\u00e9somption d’innocence, soul\u00e8ve des questions quant \u00e0 son efficacit\u00e9 r\u00e9elle dans la lutte contre la criminalit\u00e9 \u00e0 Goma. Malgr\u00e9 ces d\u00e9fis, les autorit\u00e9s locales restent engag\u00e9es \u00e0 poursuivre leurs efforts pour assurer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et le bien-\u00eatre de tous les citoyens de Goma.
