A l\u2019instar de l\u2019\u00e9dition 2021, disput\u00e9 en 2022 pour cause de pand\u00e9mie de Covid-19, la CAN 2023 se jouera l\u2019ann\u00e9e en suivante, en 2024 ! Cette d\u00e9cision a \u00e9t\u00e9 officialis\u00e9e ce dimanche par la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration africaine de football (CAF) \u00e0 l\u2019issue de son comit\u00e9 ex\u00e9cutif organis\u00e9 \u00e0 Rabat, au Maroc, en marge de la CAN f\u00e9minine. Initialement pr\u00e9vue du 23 juin au 23 juillet 2023 en C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, la comp\u00e9tition se tiendra finalement en \u00abjanvier\/f\u00e9vrier 2024\u00bb, au m\u00eame endroit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette volte-face fait suite \u00e0 des consid\u00e9rations climatiques puisque les mois de juin-juillet correspondent \u00e0 la saison des pluies en C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, avec des risques de fortes pr\u00e9cipitations et d\u2019inondations, comme cela a \u00e9t\u00e9 le cas ces derni\u00e8res semaines, ce qui a suscit\u00e9 une prise de conscience \u00e0 un an de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement et d\u00e9bouch\u00e9 sur ce report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notons qu\u2019il n\u2019\u00e9tait pas possible de programmer la comp\u00e9tition en janvier\/f\u00e9vrier 2023 puisque la Coupe du monde 2022 aura lieu du 21 novembre au 18 d\u00e9cembre 2022 et les organismes des joueurs n\u2019auraient pas support\u00e9 d\u2019encha\u00eener deux comp\u00e9titions en l\u2019espace de quelques semaines. D\u00e9sormais, avec ce report, les s\u00e9lections africaines qualifi\u00e9es pour le Mondial risquent en revanche de demander une reprogrammation des 4 derni\u00e8res journ\u00e9es des \u00e9liminatoires de la CAN 2023 afin d\u2019organiser des matchs amicaux en septembre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le pr\u00e9sident de la CAF, Patrice Motsepe, a \u00e9galement annonc\u00e9 ce dimanche que la Super Ligue africaine d\u00e9butera en ao\u00fbt 2023, avec des \u00e9quipes \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer. L\u2019\u00e9dition 2022-2023 sera donc la derni\u00e8re de la Ligue des champions africaine !<\/p>\n\n\n\n
